Continuity of Care
We are committed to your long-term health and will be pleased to see you for follow-up, either in relation to a prostate disease or to monitor your overall fitness.
You should telephone to book a follow-up consultation at any time if you experience problems or have particular concerns; otherwise follow the instructions of your specialist for routine follow-up periods.
You may need a PSA test, bladder ultrasound and flow rate when you come for follow-up; if so please make sure you arrive with a full bladder. You will be seen first by one of our nurses, who will note any problems for presentation to the specialist who will normally supervise your appointment on behalf of Professor Kirby.
Please note: while Professor Kirby will usually take personal charge of all prostate cancer and BPH patients during the decision-making and treatment phase, he will not necessarily be available either to see any other new patients or to undertake routine follow-up. However, because our entire team works closely together you can be confident that whoever you see will liaise closely with him for the duration of follow-up and he will remain informed of your progress.
