Medicine & Me: Prostate Disease
20 October, Royal Society of Medicine, London, W1
For health professionals and patients.
This is an interactive forum in which the patient’s voice is given top priority.
The meeting provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals to hear first-hand from patients, families and carers about their experiences and concerns, so that each can learn from the other. Patients will also be able to find out about the latest treatments and research by questioning the experts in an informal environment.
An interesting mix of speakers include Prostate Centre specialists Roger and Mike Kirby, Prokar Dasgupta, Steve Harland, Ben Challacombe and Lorraine Grover; patient spokesmen include comedian and “national treasure” Ronnie Corbett. The discussion will focus mainly on BPH (benign enlargement of the prostate) and prostate cancer (diagnosis and treatment), with post-treatment issues such as sexual function also on the agenda.
