Prokar has an impressive track record as an innovator, academic and teacher. One of the first urologists in the UK to use laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques, he pioneered the use of  the da Vinci robot and now acts as mentor throughout the UK to surgeons learning the technique.  He lectures and publishes widely and has earned many awards and distinctions, in 2006 winning the British Association of Urological Surgeons Karl Stortz-Harold Hopkins Golden Telescope award for significant and lasting contribution to urology.
