“I believe the prostate is the gateway to men’s health. So many of the men who come to us with a prostate problem are actually far more likely to die of something else. My aim is to reduce this likelihood by addressing their lifestyle and other risk factors”
Safety in anaesthetics
Pain control
Pre-operative risk assessment
Weight reduction
Lifestyle modification
Preparing for an operation
Overweight
At risk from co-morbidities
One of the Directors and founders of The Prostate Centre, Peter was consultant for12 years at St Bartholomew’s and The London NHS Trust, and Training Programme Director and Deputy Regional Advisor at the Barts/London School of Anaesthesia for seven years. He is the most experienced anaesthetist in London in prostate surgery, having worked with Prof Roger Kirby throughout most of his career. Peter’s mission is to get patients as fit as possible for treatment. Living proof of the power of motivation, Peter himself went from “Michelin Man” to “Marathon Man”, losing a third of his bodyweight along the way. Perhaps because of this, he has great success in inspiring his patients in their quest to achieve and sustain a healthier, fitter lifestyle.
