When we identify health issues that warrant further expert investigation; we know you’ll want to be introduced to the best. The following are some of the experts with whom we have particularly close links, and whom we know and trust.
Professor John Betteridge MB BS PhD MD FRCP FAHA
Professor Betteridge is the UK’s foremost expert on diabetes and lipid lowering. He is a leading clinician at University College Hospitals London and also has a practice in Harley Street. John has lectured all over the world and written extensively for the medical and lay press.
Dr Cathy Corbishley MB ChB FRCPath
Cathy Corbishley is a specialist urological histopathologist with over 20 years’ experience at consultant level in this area. She currently works at St George’s Hospital and Medical School in south London and publishes, teaches and trains in urological pathology; she has major interests not only in prostate, but also in renal and bladder and penile cancers. If you have your prostate removed (radical prostatectomy) by us, Cathy and her team will perform the analysis; she has held all our radical prostatectomy histopathology data for over a decade. Cathy is our primary pathologist for expert second opinion/review of biopsy slides from overseas and is happy to talk to patients about these or post-operative results on request.
Dr Rex Dawson MBChB MRCP FRCP
Dr Dawson is one of London’s top cardiologists, and has worked with us for more than ten years. A consultant at St Bartholomew’s and The London Hospitals, Rex also has a busy practice near The Prostate Centre where he undertakes investigation of patients with suspected or existing cardiological problems.
Dr Peter Fairclough MBBS MD FRCP
Dr Fairclough is a consultant in gastroenterology at St Bartholomew’s and The London Hospitals. As one of the leading practitioners of colonoscopy at The London Clinic Endoscopy Unit, Peter has performed many thousands of procedures and has treated many of our patients, either as part of their health screening or as an investigation of their bowel symptoms.
Dr Brian Wells MA MB BChir FRCPsych
Dr Brian Wells is a consultant with a special interest in patients and families who are suffering the emotional consequences of life-threatening illnesses and surgical procedures. Understanding that such events have a significant impact not just on the patient but also on the people surrounding him, Dr Wells offers help in coming to terms with a diagnosis, advice during the decision-making process and support throughout treatment and beyond.
